Just bought my first Massey-Ferguson, an MF-50. Been working with Farmalls for years, so I don"t know anything about the Massey. Found the serial number in a really convenient place -- CGM 527436. What"s the "CGM" mean? PTO arms tend to droop when the engine is off -- how hard to repair? Thanks!

I'm sure we will hear from Big Dean, but I believe he had to increase the price to $30. I would spend a lot more than that for it, is very good.

welcome aboard. I hope you enjoy the "new" MF 50 , nice tractor. The Massey's "Ferguson System" (the original 3-pt hydraulic that was copied by practically every tractor maker subsequently) of hydraulics was designed to slowly seep down after engine shut off. Plenty of good advice and support on this forum for us MF fanatics. We're lucky to have such experts as Big Dean, DavidP Wales and many others.

Thanks very much. The Farmall Discussion Group I went to was worth its weight(?) in gold. You guys have already proven your worth with the info about the 3-point!

Yes that answers it. Thanks! Obviously, I need to invest in some manuals and books.

Thanks, John. I know I got lots of good info from my Farmall discussion groups, so I'm sure this one'll be good help, too. I'll check into the CD you mentioned. Also, gotta find an owner's manual and a parts catalog. Dan

The CD has been around $20.00 for a while now. Cheep particularly since Big Dean spends about that much in gas just to mail them out.
