Some parts from the MF65-MF165 may inter change. The F-40 was a sister tractor to the MH-50. Only real difference was the sheetmetal. It also has the same engine and hydraulics as the Ferguson TO-35 thus thoes parts will interchange. The Follow on model after the consolidation of the two line policy was the MF-50.

There were just over 9000 F-40 Built in 1956-57.

The ferguson f40 was the last tractor to carry just the ferguson name. They were built for two years 56 and 57. During the same time massey harris put out the same tractor with just a little different sheet metal and colors. When the companies combined it became the massey ferguson 50. The f40 is not rare but not real common either. Parts from the mh 50, f40 and the early mf 50 will interchange.
