Hi All,
I have a question about our MF 590, the steering (hydrostatic) has a tendency to wander and now needs constant correction when travelling at any reasonably high speed, There is wear where the vertical steering shaft goes through the tombstone casting , (I think this is causing the problem) how would I remove and replace this shaft and its bushings , is there any particular way to take this apart and are any special tools needed?

Send me your e-mail address and I'll send you some breakdown pictures to help. Really not that big of a deal. Is your control valve adjusted correctly???

Hi maricopa,
my email is [email protected]

The steering system doesnt seem to have a control valve on the steering cylinder, just two hoses connecting the cylinder to the orbitrol unit behind the dash and to the pump/reservoir.....
Thanks for your reply
