I visited the ferguson factory this weekend. I realise that this is an american site but as I am from the UK I thought I would post this mesage. If anyone wants any info about the factory I would be happy to reply. I saw the first ever T20!!
Being from overseas does everyone know about the magasine publication "Friends of Ferguson Heritage". I could give anyone details if they want to subscribe to it.It is full colour, and quite informative.

Post some pictures!

What models are produced there? What is exported to the U.S.?

How far away is the Perkins factory?

Give us some examples of pricing over there.

Thanks!

I was not able to take any pictues but I will tell you as much as I know. Nearly every tractor the factory produces is different. The tractors are bought even before they are made and the customer explains exactly the right specification. The tractor works its way along the production line with a manufacturing spec and each individual worker fits the parts required. For example - 2 or 4 wheel drive. Different numbers of gears 8 or 16 etc. With or without cab, with or without roll bar. Horizontal or vertical exhaust. Even tinted or non tinted glass!! On the day of my visit there were some small tractors being produced not dissimilar in size to the FE35 but with more modern design aspects. There were also some large 6 cylenders going through. Perkins engines are used. There are also some cummins diesel engines. I know there is a cummins factory in Darlington in the North of England. I am unsure of the perkins factory. The designated places were written on each tractor. I remember seing - Holland, India, Iceland, UK, France.
