I have been reading the replys to the option of using calcium chloride or using wheel weights.
Does anyone know of wheel weights for a 1973 MF40 tractor which has the eight lug pattern and one piece wheel. What about using anti-freeze? At 6.5 pounds per gallon and 40 gallons per tire, water or anti-freeze would help.

Anti Freeze is a big "no no" as it is NOT environmentally friendly, poisons animals, kills vegetation for a long time, and should not be used for such an application. The neatest idea that I have heard of is windshield washer fluid. This wouldn't be as heavy as Calcium Chloride but it also wouldn't eat your rims. I'm debating the same issue with my MF-65 right now. If I could find wheel weights inexpensively, that would likely be my preference.
