Im getting ready to change the transmission fluid in my Massey 65 multi power. My service manual doesnt give a detailed procedure for the change out except it takes 8 gallons of fluid. I see the drain plug on the bottom of the transmission and the fill plug on top. Should the differential also be drained or will the plug on the bottom of the transmission get them both? Also are there any strainers of filters? Thanks Mark

Hello Mark,
Removing the drail plug from the bottom of the gearbox will allow nearly all of the oil to flow out. It is necessary to remove the plug from the rear centre casing as well to drain out as much as possible.
The reason for two plugs is that there is a low wall in the casing between the two. It is possible for the rear end to run out of oil but there should be oil left in the gearbox for lubrication if this should happen.
