I have it ordered, with gasket. The question is whether the studs which hold the manifold to the engine should be replaced, as well. Any sealant for the gasket?

Any other advice?

At the moment I'm running the tractor with a JBWeld patch reinforced with a 1/16" aluminum shim and a muffler clamp. Works fine.

Thanks,

Rod

Occasionally, one or more of those studs will come out with the nut attatched. If that happens, best leave it alone and reinstall as a bolt without cracking the nut. Make sure you use some of the water sealant thread sealer when reinstalling, some of those studs went into water jackets. Loctite makes that thread sealer, it's a white color. Also, you should have heavy manifold washers on the 4 stud locations where the manifold casting is split. Regular washers are OK on the other 3 but try to find some heavy ones if you can. Maybe none of this is applicable to you but I thought i'd mention it.

I kept my studs in my block during a complete rebuild and reused them because they appeared fine. I did chase them with a die. I ran my gasket dry. No leaks. By the way, mine is turbocharged running 10 lbs of boost. You should be just fine.
