Jack, according to my references your tractor should be a 1940 MH 101 standard version. I can't find my list that would show whether the tractor is a straight 101 or 101 Super. The straight 101 should have the 201 ci Chrysler while the 101 Super has what I beleive was a 217 ci Chrysler engine. They changed over in either 1940 or '41 and somewhere I have the serial no. for that but right now I can't seem to put my hands on it. Hope I helped and didn't confuse you.

Roger

Jack, I just found my info. and as usual it was right where I left it. The 101s with the 201 eng ran from sn. 355,001 to 357,870 and the 101 supers with the 217 eng ran from 357,871 to 358,918, so I would say that yours is a straight 101. It is also possible that the engine has been changed as this was some times done when an engine got tired or just to up the power a little. Incidently the 226 Continental was used in the 101 Senior from sn 358,919 to 365,000.

Have a good one!

Roger
