I am new at the tractor disease and I am getting ready to redo our 63 MF35. They are coming to sandblast Fri nad we have to have it ready by then. We are going to blast it just outside our shop and then roll it in to prime and paint. Problem is this is our only tractor and we will need to blast the wheels, prime in epoxy, put them back on and roll it in to the shop, take the wheels back off and paint. We are dis-assembling everything we can. The tractor was owned by the highway dept and is orange. I have the paint, just need some pointers on what to, and not to do. How do you move those tires around with fluid in them? I have alot of other questions too numerous to list, so feel free to throw any pointers this way, I also need any headlights that will work on this 35. Dont really care if they are original, just need the wires to go through the post.Terry

I would have the fluid pumped out if possible, then if needed have it pumped back in later. I did that with the tires from my Oliver 1600 just so I could move it around easier. I ended up getting new tires before sandblast and left the fluid out, as it's not a tillage tractor anymore, just planting and blower duty.

It does have cast centers though, so they were still plnety heavy. My brother and I were able to roll them around no problem, just don't let them fall over and they roll easy. If they start to tip, get outta the way because they don't care what's under them. As long as you can keep them upright, they should roll ok.

FWIW: I left the tires on for sandblast, only took them off for paint (tarped the tractor so I didn't have to leave it outside) rolled them outside when done, then rolled them in and installed them when the rest of the tractor was ready painted.

The best way to handle those tires and wheels is with a forklift. Hal
