I currently have a 4010 jd diesel but need a 3pt and would really like a cab. I pull a 12' miller offset disk, a 10' chisel and a springtooth 24'. Some of these put the tractor under quite a load. I was wondering if anyone has tillage experience with the 1085s especially compared to the deere. BTW the MF is 13000 with loader, new hyd. pump, and CHA.
Thanks Jim

Jim

Phillip hit it right on the head. 1085 is a good tractor but hates a heavy 3pt load (light final drives). Go with a 1105 or 1135 with a factory cab.

Good luck
Merle

1085 are good but for the same money a 1105 is a lot better

We ran a 1085 hard like that for years. If you put that little 4 cyl under that kind of load day after day, trust me,it WILL blow apart.Head gaskets and rings to start with.If you need a good tractor to do that kind of work and want it to be reliable, than you will be better off with an 1105 for sure.I'm sure someone on here will say that I'm full of it,but I'm speaking from experience, don't work a 1085 like that.pd

Thanks for the info, that's just what I needed to hear. I will keep looking. The Masseys are rare in this region (NW OK) so none of my friends knew about them.
