Massey Harris 101 Jr, maybe?

I have a friend with a MH tractor that appears to be a 101 Jr. It has a four cylinder continental engine that has the distributor on top of the head. It has a couple of what appear to be casting numbers, one on the head of the engine and another on the underside of the front of the gearbox. They are both dates in the latter months of 1945. The serial number tag appears to be missing. Is there any way to definitely identify exactly what this is without the tag. Many thanks, tractorsam

Find the upper machined surface of the rear differential/transmission case. Move to the drivers left and look between the cast iron gear shifting platform (cast iron) and the steel plate behind it which bolts down to cover the differential gears. Between these two plates (near where the clutch pedal sits at rest) is the serial number stamped in .... the letters and numbers are large but not usually stamped too deeply so you'll have to do some scratching and wire-brushing to find it, but it will be there. Post it here and someone will ID it for you for sure.
