MF 265 fuel consumption

My MF 265 perkins 236 engine uses 1 gallon an hour diesel fuel when tedding hay with a 11 foot hay tedder , is this heavy on fuel or not .

That's just about what my 1135 uses. It's really not to bad considerint what you would use in a gas tractor.

I figured it up this year and I spent just about double last year in fuel working with a gas tractor.

1 Gallon per hour really isn't bad when you figure...your car going 60 mph would use more gas in that hour than what you're using in your tractor. Tedding with your tractor you're probably running about the same rpm as a car going 60.

I would say thats not heavy but someone here may correct me. I hope thats about all my 180 I just bought uses. I will be very happy with those numbers.
