I've searched the archives but could not find what I needed.

I'm looking to buy what the owner says is a MF 135. The ID plate on the left side of the dash is missing and there is not 135 logo on the side of the hood. I'd like to verify the ID. Are there other identifiying marks/numbers or distinguishing characteristics that I can use to verify the ID? If so, where are they located? It's a 3 cylinder gas. 4 speed hi/lo xmission. third party image
My DW was supposed to get more/better pictures. Thanks in advance.
Steve

If it has the 'other' rear end, is that a problem or a benefit?
I have a list now of things to check when I look again. Will get more/better pictures this time.

Thanks to all that have responded,

Steve

That looks like an Orchard 135 with the 165 Rear End. That is a 135 because of the the shape of the dash. I can't tell you what year but 135s did get the row crop lift arms.

The wheel centers are from a 165. The top link mount looks 165 (or bigger) Draft arms are 165 (or 150 row crop) Front half looks like 135. Loader is an industrial MF. I'm not positive, but I THINK the 2135 (135 Industrial) had the 165 type rear end. More pictures needed.

What sort of FRONT AXLE does it have? (possibly a solid "industrial" type?)

If I remember right, the red wheel centers are weights. Steve

Though I can't say it with 100% confidence, I can with 99.99%. *(always a small spec of doubt, you never know what someone else dressed their tractor as) That's a later model 135 with the 3 cyl. perkins gas engine in there.

Looks like a 135 but it also looks like the steering wheel is raised higher than normal. Nice looking industrial loader on it. Maybe a 32 off of an MF 20,30 or 40. The square bars with the holes in them were front cab mounts that fit inside a larger tube on the cab. Look on the bottom of the oil pan near the front of the tractor for the casting date of the oil pan. This will give you some idea as to year. If it's an 8 speed it's a later model

I have little doubt that it is a 135. The stance, body, wheelbase, wheel size, and fenders all indicate a late 60's MF135. The engine is also spot on. The three options on a 135 are the perkins 3 cyl diesel, perkins gas, and continental gas. The perkys were the more desireable, but the continental was no slouch. Get the engine serial number and compare it against other 135's on the registry to establish year.

Look to see where the medallion was mounted. If on the front of the tractor, then it is a UK model, if toward the dash, then a US.

Good Luck, Aaron

The UK models had the tach in the middle of the dash and had a tractormeter with mph on it. I think US models only had a tach. Look and see what kind of starter it has and/or generator alternator. I believe all the UK models had standard differential lock. Hope this helps. Dave

Thanks for your reply. Where will I find the engine serial # on the perkins gasser?

Your picture is a little unclear. What does it say on the hood decal behind the loader after Massey Ferguson?

There is nothing on the hood decal after the Name. That's the 1st place I looked for an ID. Thanks.
