Phil from the Ferguson board sent me to you. I just acquired a TO-35. It runs really well but it will not move. IT seem to shift fine but the Hi-Low gear does not shift correctly. It will go down and in the middle but not up. The previous owner said he was mowing with it pushed in the clutch and let it row down the hill and when he went to shift it would not move. Could my problem be th Hi-Low gear being stuck? What should I look for.
Any Suggestions is much appreciated
Tim

There are a couple of thing that one of them is possibly causing your problem. The two speed planetary on the back of the transmission has a ring with splines inside and it is knurled on the outside it is pressed into the two speed planetary inside hub. That ring will sometimes slip out of the hub causing the two speed not to shift into the either gear. The other thing is the drive line coupler that goes between the two speed planetary and the differential pinion shaft it is designed to break before it damages something more expensive in the drive train. It is usually referred as a shear coupler. it has a big cotter pin that holds it back onto the differential pinion shaft if that cotter pin breaks or happen to come out it will let the coupler slide off the differential pinion shaft and forward on the drive line causing the tractor not to move and it will sometimes wedge against the two speed sliding collar so it can not move towards the back. You can after draining the oil down below the bottom access plate bolt remove the access plate on the left side with the PTO shift lever in it. look up in the access hole you can see the coupler. If you need more help email me
