As usual, ask the questions after the deed! I've purchased a 1966 MF135 this week-end, and it has multi power. Is this a problem? Its working now but i expect I won't often be using the travel setting, is it better to leave it alone or use it occasionally to keep it operable?

I've always been told you should run them in 'high' periodically... it has to do with keeping parts lubricated properly down below.

So, I run around in high mostly.... but....

Low makes it a lot easier to shift, especially when stopped, so I've got in the habit of putting it in low to change gears or when I stop.

Kevin, Suggest you use the "travel setting" or high. in low you don't have any engine breaking ability- in other words you are free-wheeling down hill! Also if you have trouble- clean the filters and change the Transmission-hydraulic oil. Have had a '66 135 bought new And has been great. Enjoy!-JIM

Hi neighbour -

I see you were out of bed well before breakfast this morning!

We've got two of them; it doesn't seem to make much difference whether you use the multi-power or not. When they're ready to act up, they will!

Enjoy the new tractor - they're excellent machines.

my 1963 35 special deluxe has multi power. it works well, just as everything on this 37 year old beauty does.
