Hi All,
I saw a MF 4225 at the local massey dealer yesterday , 1998 model, 12 speed shuttle, 4wd 2500 hours done, I am thinking of buying it to complement/help out our 590 What horsepower is the 4225 and what engine is fitted is it a perkins 236 type or the newer series.
The 4255 is popular locally but havnt seen many 4225's Will it have enough power for general farm tasks topping carting silage bales
and all that kind of stuff.

I ran a 2wd for 7 years and wish I had it back. I traded it for a 481 4wd with a 1070 loader about 1 1/2 yrs ago. The 481 has had all sort of little problems.I never had any problems with the 4225. I didn't baby either one as they are chicken house tractors. Wish I had a 4225 4wd instead of the 481.

I believe the 4225 is a 65 hp engine/ 55 hp pto tractor with a 3.9 liter Perkins diesel

A guy up the road has one with a cab and loader and seems to like it.

Sorry, but that is about all i know on this model. Good Luck
