I have a MF40 Industrial with loader. When i raise and lower the loader, the hydraulics SCREAM and are very jerky, i cant do any precision type grading or anything. Also, the lift on my 3pt is not very good. While using an auger recently, it was tough for the tractor to lift it out of the holes. Any ideas on what i can do to trouble shoot this problem and what the culpret may be?

Not sure if they are the same , but I think so...the 30 model industrial has a gain control on the driver's right side below the seat and next to the tranny dip stick. Set too slow, the gannon on my 30 acts as you describe. Hope this helps.Scottyb

I agree with 135 fan, low hydraulic fluid on the loader. For the 3 point, have you lifted anything else with it? Check the fluid on it also.

Thanks alot for the responses. As far as the 3pt, it just does not lift very well, plus it bounces as it goes up and down (I have learned the tough lessons of augering, i live in an area of clay, clay and more clay). You would not know off hand how to check that level and filter for the loader would you? I am new to this (and any) tractor, and have the manuels on order.
thanks again

There might be a dipstick on the hydraulic reservoir cap. If not take a piece of wire or something and see if the oil is near the top. If it is low oil isn't the problem. If it is low, I'd guess to fill it up about 4 inches fro the top to allow some expansion when the oil gets hot. If that doesn't help then look intp the hydraulic filter for the loader. Your 3 pt. might need the control spring adjusted. I broke my plunger and after replacing it and adjusting according to the manual, it works way better. Dave

Check your oil level for the loader and for a clogged filter. An auger stuck in the ground can be very hard to pull out. It's best to only drill a little at a time and then bring the auger out to clean the hole. I've drilled a lot of holes with a skid steer and even though you can reverse the auger, if it's wet clay can be a real problem. Dave
