About two months ago while shifting from first to reverse I stuck the shifter. Drove back to the barn in reverse and following instructions on the site, unstuck the gear box. Managed to do it again about a week ago and this time I can not get it unstuck. The gear I moved last time will not budge. What other tricks can I try? I really need to get this unstuck as trying to mow in first high is not good and first low just will never get the job done. Thanks for all your hlep.

Thanks guys. I just about gave up but re-read your post and decided to try again. Worked about an hour trying differnt angles, rods, and various threating words. Just as I was about to close it up it slid in. Don't know what I did different than all the work before but it finally paid off. Thanks again...

Is there any pressure on the transmission? The tractor should be on level ground or at least, brakes locked so the gear will move freely. You should also move the hi-lo range to neutral. Also, after you get it moving again, Big Dean always suggests applying pressure downward on the shifter knob when changing gears and after mine got stuck a couple more times, I started doing that and it only gets stuck now when my neighbor borrows it and forgets. One other thing, I wouldn't suggest force, but I use a very small pry bar simply because it's handier than a screw driver and has a slight bend that easily slips behind the gear I am prying. I am able to apply steady, firm pressure without using brute force.

i now what ya mean, i've cussed ours many times, you'll have to get a big screwdriver and get in there and start trying to move gears, i had one years ago i thought i would NEVER get unstuck, but finally did. seems like on the left side, there is a rod like thing that goes back and forth as you shift up and down, you can get behind it and pop the shifter out
