I need the air cleaner pipe, carb to cleaner, for an MF 202 but pipe should be the same for all MF's with Continental 134Z engine (TO-30 etc.) Tried muffler shop but finished product wouldn't work (pipe to heavy or bends not quite right to get by exhaust pipe) Shop 15 miles away so little hard getting it right. Any help appreciated.

Fabricate one with lengths of conduit tubing of the correct size and then use radiator hose sections (from your local scrap yard) for the bends. The bends can vary in degrees for the angles, but most hoses you come across will cover all the possible elbow degree measurements. Use stainless steel clamps to ensure a tight fit. Just start at one end and away you go ..... not great for the correct police but it works, I've done it on a lot of tractors and other things as well.

I replaced my oil bath air cleaner with an airbox from an old car I had. Relocated it to the back-left side of the engine. Now I have a nice, replaceable air filter element which keeps the dirt out.

Point of this story was that I needed to fabricate a new pipe from the air box to the carb. I used 1 1/2" PVC pipe to get over there. I used fittings where I could and heat from a torch to bend it where I needed a compound curve (just one around the steering shaft). Its been on there for two years, no trouble. The pipe is not attached to any hard points...flexible rubber collar at the carb end. I determined the size of the pipe from the rubber collar.

Not ideal, of course, if you are restoring to original but it worked for me. Protects the engine better than the oil bath.

Steve.
