Our "New to us" 180 runs pretty fine, but the one problem was the hydralics would not work the lift of our 14' disc. somthing that should not be a problem...

I hooked a guage to the valve and tested the pressure. The results were quite low- 650 PSI (At 1000 RPM)

What is the normal pressure? We will start working our way down to the pump in a bit of a sweep, so the first stop is to check the relief valve. Um, basically, Where is it? :) I will admit that I have not worked with these ferguson hydralics, at least not yet anyway.

Is there any words of wisdom for working on these hydralics?

And finally, what year would our 180 be? The serial is 645000201.

I do not remember the exact pressure for the MF180 auxiliary hydraulics but it is somewhere around 2500 or above my guess is your auxiliary pump is bad that is usually what you find causing that problem. You will have to split the tractor between the transmission and the rear center housing to access the pumps. Hope this helps

I had kinda hoped I would not have to dive that deep, but if I have to in order to fix the pump, so be it!

There is a "Hydraulic Pump Repair Kit" on ebay, I'm wondering if that kit covers the Auxiliary pump too?

For now, the pump can lift our NH Haybine head, so I'll hold off for a little bit. I gotta get some manuals anyway. :)

Also, thanks for the year confirmation.
