Does anyone know if a MF 236 loader will fit a 255 Massey w/a Simms Cab already on the Tractor. And would it take much alteration to make it fit? Thanks

Steve, The 236 loader is a nice fit for the 255.
I am aquainted with the Simms cab but don't know
about the fit. In the 236 parts book it does show
some mounts for cab and some w/o but I think most
dealers ordered brackets for cabs just in case.
Hopefully someone will have tried with the Simms.
Chuck

First of all Thanks to all with ideas! Chuck if you could find the info in the 236 manual regarding mounts it would really help. Email if you get it Thanks Steve

With the valve on the loader, it might take some adjustments in the valve operators, like running the valves with remote cables, or extending the plumbing and mounting the valve inside the cab. I've seen both schemes in other loader manuals.

You will probably have to find the right brackets. MF sold the 236 loader to fit from 135 to 274 and most all in between. With the rear posts the way they are and the valve on the right post, there may be interference with getting into the cab. It was too much loader for my MF-135 so is now on mounts I made for it to fit on my JD-4020 which hasn't permanently bent it yet. I cross drilled the knobs of the valve handles and ran rods from them to a rod guide on the fender about three feet to the rear.

I know the manual lists many tractors the 236 fits. I don't know where my MF-236 manual is at the moment so I can't look for the 255.

On the 135, the front mount bolts to the bottom of the front axle support in front of the front axle and the rear mount bolts to the bottom of the clutch bell housing.
