Autolite dist with the following numbers.-GW4139A 61 then3-4 more numbers/letters that can't be read. Thanks

On the Cont.F.Series there were 2 or 3 Four Cyl and 2 Six cyl Dists.used that NO parts are any longer able to get,PERIOD.There are new ones you can get if you look.We have had to replace maybe a half dozen over the years.

Is that the strange looking cap, sort of flat where the plug wires come out horizontally (flat) to the sides of the cap and are anchored by tapered wedge pins between the cap and the distributor?

MMB Yes thats exactly the description. Top of cap measures 2 1/2 -2 3/4 inches accross. Your thoughts?

Talked to this fellow here in Edmonton and he told me that those caps have not been available for a long, long time, nor has he ever came across any in his purchases of new old stock, etc. That being the case, why not just change over to a newer Autolite model or a Delco distributor. There were a ton of those same engines (124, 140 and 162 sizes) that take the same distributor and they were on numerous other tractors and welders and industrial applications, even into the 70's. Just a suggestion that might be a better fix in the long run. Good luck.

Where abouts do you live? There is a local outfit up here in Canada that often hunts that stuff down, or at least might be able to get a parts number for you. I will check that out and get back to you.
