I am getting ready to split the 65 in half to replace the 2 clutches. I also have a seal leaking from the transmission into the clutch housing. Is there any special tools that I need to try and find or have made ? Thanks JJ

One more little trick. If you find yourself stuck during reassembling the halves, it's probably because the transmission shaft splines and the clutch splines aren't aligned. Engage the PTO and turn the shaft by hand a little bit. It will turn the trans input shaft enough to line up the splines.

Also, be sure to put wedges on either side of the front axle so the front end doesn't pivot when you pull her apart. People get hurt that way.

I fabricated an alignment tool from tools found in my shop. I broke it down here. Hope this helps. BTW, when you are gettting it all back together, make sure you do not forget the throwout bearing. Just thought I would mention it. HTH Aaron

You will need some special tools. The I&T manual explains them quite well.

splitting the tractor is really no big deal---taking ure time putting it back together is really crucial--don"t force it otherwise u will break parts of the new clutch---u might be wise to replace the rear seal of ure engine while ure doing this---if u can get a hold of BIG DEAN on this site he has CD that explains a lot of this only about $10--very worth while---good luck john

Hello There is a real good article on this site about splitting a tractor. I searched but could not find it. You will need a clutch alinement tool. Also get four 7/16 bolts about six inches long and saw the heads off to use for lineup dowells. When you go back together don't force anything or you will bend the center in the pto clutch disk. This was why I had to replace mine as the previous owner pulled it together with the bell housing bolts. I blocked up my rearend and used a floor jack under the front end to hold the engine up. Wish I could find that artitle for you. You will also need three 1/4 inch all thread bolts or rods and some nuts and washers to screw into the pressure plate to releave pressure before you take out the clutch housing to flywheel bolts. Good luck DH

I don't know much about the tools you will need but I may possibly have a clutch in stock if you are interested shoot me an email. Also note if it is a dual or single stage clutch.
