Hello, I noticed all of the sudden, that I had a steering system leak. The hydrostatic hand pump (under the steering wheel)is pumping oil right out the top of the hand pump.It is coming out what looks like the point where the steering column goes in.I looked at the manual, and the exploded view shows an O-ring near the top.Is the fix really just as easy as replacing the o-ring? Or is there more? The steering worked really well until it got to the point to where it just pumps all the fliud out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks, Dale

Thanks a million guys. I"ll start on it soon. Is there anything else besides an o-ring that could let it leak? I"m planning to only go into the pump just far enough to replace the torn or broken o-ring unless someone thinks I should investigate farther..... .Thanks Again

Dale

Had to pull my dash apart to replace shaft and bearings above pump. seemed like a lot of work, but was quicker than trying a shortcut. lots of little nuts n bolts , but in the end, it comes down to 4 capscrews and 4 fittings. Good luck, it'll take about an hour to get unit in your hand.

PS - check your needle bearings in steering shaft and replace that allan screw in front of shaft with a grease fitting.

Its usually that simple. The hardest part is pulling the steering wheel.
