I just purchased a Massey Ferguson backhoe/ loader. I am wondering how to tell what year and what diesel engine it has. The hood has a plate on the side with the number 3165. I can't find any info on this model tractor. It also has a generator so I suspect it is a mid to late 60's tractor. The loader is a 200 model and the backhoe is a 222 model. I would like to know what I have. If any one has any idea what year it might be I would appreciate the information

I have a 205 Workbull built in 1961 came with a MF200 FEL (Davis) and a MF222 backhoe attachment. Other than the normal leaks from age and use, both work fine.

It is a 3165 industrial. It is an industrial 165 and the predessesor to the MF30. You are correct it would be mid to late 60's. Go to Puddingsworld to look at a brochure. Go to the home page and under my MF industrial site. The engine is a 4 203 Perkins which is a 4 cylinder version of the 3 152. Very good engine and machine in general. Dave
