Does anyone know the associated "dwell" for a Z134 4 cyl. gas engine . point setting , i believe is 0.0022 . I've looked at a few car repair manuals for something with a similar point gap /advertised dwell- but mathematically it is not a hard ratio - it seems. I don't understand all I know about it.
Thanks in advance , Mike.

Mike if the problem started after the carb was rebuilt it could be from the venturi in the carb is installed backwards, I did it on mine and the motor would only run with the chock on, good luck.

OOPS - that was point gap of 22 thousandths (0.022). To paul in NM - thanks I'll shoot for 30 degrees dwell. The real reason I inquired about the dwell - so I wouldn't overlook the obvious while troubleshooting the "real" problem , which is that I can't keep this bugger running on anything less than about 1/3 choke - and I get no additional rpms attempting to use the hand throttle. ( marvel-schebler carb recently rebuilt ). compression 120,130,130,120 on cyls 1 to 4. Also a new combination intake/exhaust manifold. I'm thinking air leak - but just a wag.
Thanks again - Mike.

Mike - I do not know the dwell angle for the Continental Z134 engine but I do know that it is 28-32 (set at 30) degrees for the Continental Z120 and Z129 engines.

Paul
