Kinda OT 750 diesel fuel problem

I've posted on the combine board a couple of times and got no response, so I'll ask here. I had to replace the lift pump on my early 750,and every since I have to bleed the filters and injection pump to start it every day. I have taken it off and put it back on, thinking I didn't get the lines tight. I have put new seal and washers on the check valve. I was going to buy a new check valve, but the dealer can't find it in the parts list. If the line from the tank to the lift pump was leaking air, shouldn't I see fuel leaking somewhere? If the lift pump is bad, It would leak fuel into the crankcase. Haven't noticed oil level raising. I am open to any thoughts or suggestions. I'm thinking it is something simple I've overlooked. I'm thinking about switching the lift pump with my 1850 Ollie to see if it is the pump or something else. Has anyone ever been thru this? Thanks in advance, Chris

If you don't get an answer here, there's an excellent combine board at:

No where near knowing the machine you have but, on a 135 diesel the owner would run out of fuel going up long slopes. I noticed that the glass bowl was clear when at idle but turbulent and bubbles at higher speeds. bad seal in the lift pump itself, between the upper/lower sections.
Would installing a glass sediment bowl,as a temp installation first in the line from lift pump to filters and then from filters to high pressure pump possibly show which section of the system is getting air into it?
maybe and hopefully the idea helps.

I haven't seen it but I have heard of situations where old rubber fuel lines will let air in but don't let fuel leak out. Maybe try replacing the rubber fuel lines if it has any. Our 550 does have rubber lines from the tank up to the engine compartment.

Good Luck,
JP.
