Can anyone help.
I am considering purchasing a diesel MF 35 yet have noticed that models with 2, 3 and 4 cylinders are available. Which is the better engine and are they all rated at 35hp ?. One I am interested in has 2 cylinders, runs like a dream, and looks in great shape.
Many thanks in advance.

Wayne,

I've never heard of an MF-35 with two cylinders, sounds like something newer, but I'm sure if there is such a thing it will be confirmed here. The only two diesels I'm aware of are the 3 cylinder Perkins, and the 4 cylinder Standard. I've had the Perkins version now for over 17 years, and I think it's great. In reading the various posts here, I've gathered that the Standard diesel is difficult to start, especially in cold weather.

Good Luck

I also confer on the 2-cyl engine, and likewise on the 3-cyl Perkins. It is a great engine and tractor. The 4-cyl tractors are only good for parts, and you usually find them much cheaper.

There is a fellow in Middle Tennessee that deals in alot of MF tractors. His name is Donnie Savage, and his number is 931.526.

I don't know where you are located, but there is a fellow in Middle Tennessee that deals in alot of MF tractors, and I know he has a couple of 35s. His name is Donnie Savage, and his number is 931.52
