Does anyone have any advice on removing a rear wheel from a D19 Allis? I have an axle seal leaking and creating quite a mess. This is not a restoration project, it's a tractor I use almost daily for whatever I need it for.

To pull the rear wheel, according to the manual, you remove the three bolts holding the round wedge in the center of the wheel. Then, with special bolts I don't have, but can make, you remove the wedge. This should leave the wheel loose on the axle. Then, if that works, I plan to lift the wheel and back it off the axle with my loader tractor. The wheel is 16.9x38 with fluid, so we're talking some weight here.

Am I on the right track?

Goose: I think you have it figured out. Just be carefull and do not let that wheel get away from you. It could mash someone. I am an AC collector but I havn't tackled that job yet on that tractor. You might also ask on the AC forum, those guys are really good about answering your questions. A lot of very knowledgable people there.
