When I put heavier implements on the 3 pt. the lift will work but not go up all the way after the oil warms up. If I lift up on the implement by hand it will raise up easily but drop down to where it was in the first place. The implement is still off the ground and the lift arms raise so they are about level coming straight out. Another bizarre thing is that if I sit on the implement it will go down to about 6 or 8 inches off the ground and stay there. When I get off the arms raise it up so they are about level again. I,ve had the internal linkage checked and everything supposedly adjusted to specs. Any thoughts would be appreciated. It's a 65 UK 135. Thanks. Dave

Thanks for the quick responses. I think my pump is good because I have no problems at all with the loader. It is highly possible that something is out of adjustment. When the tractor was in the shop a few years ago everything was supposed to have been adjusted correctly however the shop had new owners and an idiot for a service manager. I had a lot of back and forth movement on the top link attaching point to the draft spring. I said it was never sloppy like that before and he just kept saying it's all done by a measurement. I then talked to a long time MF mechanic who agreed with me. He said to take the rubber off the end of the spring enough so you can take a punch to tighten the nut just so it takes all the slop and side to side as well as front and back movement out of the top link. Could this have something to do with it? If I have to take the top cover off I need to take the cab off first. By the way that dealer didn't last very long till they went into receivership. No wonder. Dave

I can tell you from very recent experience, if you need to rebuild that pump, just buy a completely new one and swap them out. Not that much more expensive and you don't have to worry about taking anything apart. Hope that's not the problem, but those are my 2 cents worth if it becomes necessary.

I agree with MF Poor; Big Dean's CD will be the best money you've spent for information.

Tim

Two words. Big Dean.

Go to his site and order his CD on the 100 series Massey's. Included is a method of testing among other things, the master control spring. The problem you described sounds just like one I was having with a 135 and a 150 I was working on a couple years back. His method diagnosed the problem as a weak master control spring in both cases. It MAY be something else, but Deans CD is the best place to start looking. BTDT.

With luck, he'll pick up on your post.
