MF 245 Orchard Power Steering Issue

Problem: When turning tractor either left or right direction, the tractor will straighten itself if you do not continuously keep turning the steering wheel. If you turn the steering wheel and hold it, the tractor reverts back to straight ahead when moving forward instead of continuing to turn. Steering control valve, pump and both actuators have been rebuilt and the technician who did the work said everything was within spec. Any suggestions as to how to test for the faulty component and how to fix it?

Hi, This was a problem on several models in that
era. MF issued a service bulletin which I would
have(but too many thousands to look thru) I am
sure your MF dealer could pull it up on his screen by subject. If my memory is correct,these
should have had an update years ago. Mostly what
I remember is that also you would have to "correct" as you drove down the road,If this is
the same problem. Chuck

Hi,
Have you checked that your diff-lock pedal in not engaged or seized in the engaged position. This will always make the tractor turn back to straight.

Did this start before or after the the tech worked on it? Something missing or installed backwards.CENTAUR

This was a problem at the time the tractor was acquired 'used' several years ago. Components now rebuilt to hopefully ensure no internal leakage.
