Changed the hydraulic/transmition fluid in my MHF 50 the other day, and when I went to take the fill cap off I saw 80 wgt. winter, 90 wgt. summer. I had bought Hytran to put back in it, so thats what I did. I called a few Massey dealerships, and got mixed responces. Do I need to drain the Hytran out and put the Massey brand oil in or will the Hytran do?

Thanks,

Craig

My 2cents worth> I have MF 50 and first used fluid similar to Hy-tran... was too thin. Original fluid was a 80w or 90w mineral oil. MF still sells this as M1143 or M1149 or a similar number - packaged in either 2 or 2.5 gallon jugs. It is definitely not 90w gear grease. I don't live in a cold climate so I have seen no shortcomings with the 90w oil.
