Ok, I've looked at the threads and am acquainted with the "correct" colors and decal for my MH-50. However, the decal is "Massey-Ferguson 50" and the bronze is UNDER the flint gray. Could it be that the dealer(s) or factory re-painted them and changed the decal with the sheetmetal removed???? It's been painted over the bronze everywhere in a professional style, not as if done by an individual and just painted while assembled. When I look at the air intake, the original sticker is not painted over. It *does* have the correct hood for a MH-50. The present paint looks very old and aged, grey is peeling off everywhere and revealing the bronze, as if it's original or near that. Just wanting to get some additional history. Recently bought this nice jewel, CGM 509323, '56 MH-50, Continental Z134 engine. Being a high-crop and the short production, is it actually a rare find as I saw posted in another thread?

It was common for dealers to respray earlier models to look like later models. Often this happened before the tractor was ever sold. The MF50 model remained unchanged from 1958 until 1964 and was quite popular. The early hood and the serial number would have been the only dead give-aways. Imagine selling your 2001 Ford F-250 as a 2007 and no one being the wiser! How about a pic?

My 50 was repainted many years ago and has the brownish gray instead of bronze. I can't tell if it ever had bronze, but I can see the decals under the paint. My decals are like yours.
