I was loading firewood for a friend and my 35 jammed in reverse. My friend said he has one Minnie that often does that. I cited the many references to the repair procedure on YT and Big Dean's site and then backed home to attempt the fix. Of course I don't yet have a large screwdriver, so the end of a small bar clamp had to do. For a newbie it's not quite as simple as Big Dean said... It helped when I ran the engine with the Hi/Lo in neutral. This allowed me to see what I was trying to do, pumped an impressive amount of oil over the gears, and in between futile sessions of jiggling the gear and fork (engine off) with the bar, the stuck transmission accidentally hopped out of gear. One minute the gear was turning, then all of the sudden it wasn't turning any more. I pulled it into reverse and the gear started turning again. Out of gear, stopped. At this point it dawned on me that the transmission was now unstuck, so a bad day suddenly became much sunnier. The tractor ran fine for another three hours of bush-hogging after the repair. The day would have gone quite differently had I not read on this board about how to fix one of the 35's most common problems.
