I'm back with another question. Since I am rebuilding this gas 150 figured I should check/clean the main Hyd. filter. Manual says to remove PTO cover/lever, cut wire, unscrew filter cover. Well, there is a "T" fitting and relief valve (from the aux gear pump) IPTO sitting on top of the filter. I removed the lift cover and the piping is sitting dead on top of the wing nut that secures the filter and the saftey wire is in place.

Do I need to split the Trans from the rear housing? This wouldn't be a big deal, since I have the front end off and the engine on the stand for rebuild.

Thanks for any help, Tom

Hi,
Sounds like someone may have modified the pipework inside. If yours has an auxillary filter about the size of a cigarette packet then you will need to split the tractor to remove it. The Ferguson pump filter can be removed easily after cutting the wire but be careful of the sharp edges. And as the phrase goes, "now is the time to do it...."
