I HAVE A FERGUSON TO-30 AND WAS TOLD THAT THE LIFT WAS DESIGNED TO LEAK DOWN. IS THIS TRUE? I HAVE TO USE CHAINS TO SET THE HEIGHT OF MY BUSH HOG BUT THIS IS A PAIN. I WHOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THE LIFT CAN BE MADE TO HOLD LIKE THE FORD 8-N.

The Ferguson 20 only had draft control and likely the 30 is the same. The 8N had a lever under the seat that gave the choice of draft or position control. Draft is used for ground contact application, Position is used for the things you want held in the same height relative to the tractor - brush hogs, utility carriers, etc. The hydralics are not really leaking down just lookin for an amount of drag or pull to be on the implement. Hope this helps.
