Hello I just bought a MF 40B industrial tractor. The tractor SN 9A-284780, a 1978 model made in US. The engine SN JE22060U513384E is a 1978 engine built in UK according to the Perkins engine site. Is it common to be built in two countries and are there any advantages or disadvantages to a UK engine? Tractor runs great with a little over 800 hours on it. Has 8 speed trans with 3 point and pto. Thanks DH

I believe all the Perkins engines were manufactured at Peterborough.UK. and distributed worldwide. Some are now being built at a factory in Brazil.
