Your tractor is identical to mine in virtually every way..... except yours runs and is in one piece.

It sure looks like a '48-50 row crop Model 30 High Arch, with a Continental 164 flathead engine. The manufacturing date should be cast in to the bottom of the transmission housing

The Model 30 was made in large numbers but the high arch variant is a bit rare, so I'm told.

As noted above, its worth what someone will pay. Since its in original, complete and unmolested condition, a Massey collector may give you as much as $1000 for it.

But, IMO, these tractors are not very useful, which limits their appeal and thus their value. They (especially the row crop without a 3 point hitch, like this one) were not very manoeverable, have a fragile front end design and are pretty specialised to open field work only. So, IMO anyone other than a massey collector would find little value in this item, except as a curiosity.

BTW the angle iron brackets above the PTO and below the transmission are probably not original. It seems to be missing the PTO guard, too.

Overall, it looks like my MH 30, but you have the wide front end, while mine is a row crop model. My 30 has a form of 3 point on it, while this appears not to. What part of the country are you located in. Im in Washington state and would be interested in the front end if you part it out or arrive at a price.

I always figured it was worth whatever anyone would be willing to pay for it.

I recently sold an old john deere. I went up on ebay and ran a search on the make and model. I found a few that were in the same condition and watched the auctions close. To my suprise the tractor was worth a whole lot more than I figured it to be. I listed the john deere up there and it brought very close to what the others went for, and they came in picked it up.

One less piece of junk kicking around here for me and enough cash to put a little into my massey.

That sure looks like my 1950 30. Except your sheetmetal is in way better shape.

It appears to have a flat head 4 cylinder engine. Between that and the style of the hood, I would guess that it is a model 30 row crop. How many forward gears does it have?

That confirms that it is a 30. I will let someone else put a value on it.
