Hello,

Can anybody tell me wich fuelpump was installed on an 2800/2805. I saw an CAV rotary pump, an
Bosch MW pump and Simms/CAV inlinpump.
Also what is the difference between an MF 2800/2805?

Thanks; Peter

The CAV rotary pump was factory installed on all 2000 series V8 engines from 1977 to 1981??? The Bosch was factory installed on the later ones. The Simms in line pump was was a MF replacement (dealer installed) pump for a failed CAV rotary pump. HTH

Depending on your year, it could have been one of the three you listed. We have the Simms on ours. As far as your second question of the 2800 and the 2805. The 2800 arrived in the line up in the 1977 model year. There were problems with the rear end falling apart with the amount of horsepower they were transferring. There was also an air conditioner recall that was done at the same time. This changed the drain tube from the cab. All 2775 and 2805 tractors would get this in the coming years. Massey called all of the 2700 and 2800 series back for updates which also redecalled those units to the 2805 and 2775 tractors. In 1978, they continued the 2805 and 2775 models as the new numbers. Our dealer gave me numbers of production and stated there should be none of the 2800 models around unless they missed the general recall. He has a list of desireable and undesireable serial numbers for dealers. They have used 3 different clutch packs for the shifters over the years, the latest is obviously the best, but he knows when they switched by serial numbers. If your serial number is a number, letter, 2 zero's and a 1, its not desireable to him. Example, 9R00113, low resale value. A serial number of 9R03123 would have better trade value to a dealer.
