Hi Blokes . Punched a hole in radiator of my MF 165 4A-212-4cyl Perkins diesel-2x4 tractor . NOT very smart !! Need to remove the radiator to get it fixed . How do I get the lid of ? I can find some of the front bolts but it's still bolted on - darn !! I've managed to remove the badly-bent front grill & associated parts - but - - - The I&T shop manual doesn't help much ( would help if I could read it . Don-wi how's your uni going & tnx for all your help !! . Also tnx to Dave-in Wales , Arron , 135 yr old mf guy. Big Dean ( does your CD help out this dummy - in how to take this MF 165 apart and fix things - when I don't know very much ) that I've never done before ?
Dave in Wales - It's nice it ( slasher ) goes down if that is not telling me there is something very wrong that will cost me more $'s that I've got to spare . My pension doesn't stretch far enough to cope with me being overly stupid , tnx your help & about tire pressure . Big help . I have asked the moderator an YT.com for a break-down on their manuals for this model but haven't got any response as yet . How good are they ? Think I will send Big Dean $ 50 usd's and see if his cd will help . I do hate being so totally lost with this tractor . Need some in-put from you all as to the design of a really good super strong front grill-guard/pusher for 3" saplings , Please . Still can't date this MF 165 & it seems to be different to the one's I see pictures of on this web-site . Thanks guys, sure need you help. James in Auzzie-land . Thanks again

Hello James,
Oh dear oh dear, what are you doing down there?????
Removal of the bonnet is easy. First remove the small screws around the instrument panel. Reach up underneath to the instrument panel light and trace the wire to the light switch. Pull off gently. Be careful as these terminals can corrode an will break very easily.
At the rear top of the silver side panels you will find a 1/4 bolt each side. The lug on the bonnet may be broken. If you are able to it, it is worth re-welding these lugs in place as it/they prevent a lot of vibration.
Remove the front grille door and remove the MP oil cooler if fitted. There are 4 bolts holding the bonnet to the top of the grille. Remove these.
If you have a cab fitted you will need to remove the windscreen (pain in the ****) to allow the bonnet to slide upwards.
Move the bonnet forwards until it is about 18" (0.5m) over the grille. Go to the front and with a hand each side lift it off as you would move a ladder. You will need to remove the top hose and plate from the rad. Remove the screws from the rad frame and the rad should lift out.
We have had several over the years where the rad has been taken apart and rebuilt differently preventing it fitting in the frame. Impress on your repairer that it must be rebuilt exactly.
Cheers
