Hi,
TE20's are cheap over here (Australia) compared to just about any other tractor. I want to buy one to move the occasional bit of sand or aggregate and general carrying and towing on a 16 acre block that I have just purchased. I don't intend to do any farming, so I'm quite happy to have the occasional breakdown or wait for parts. However I would need to add a front end loader bucket. I can fabricate this myself (bought ones are rare and expensive) and I think I know enough about hydraulics to get it going. So my question is, is this tractor suitable mechanically and can I use the it's hydraulics or do I need to add a pump, and if I need a pump, can it be attached to the engine or does it have to go on the PTO.

Of course if I am commiting sacrelige by using such a fine antique for dirty work, please let me know.

Thanks in advance,
Nick

Loaders on thee beasts are not very good. You need to add a lot of weight to get traction, and the steering is difficult at best, and the front end will wera out fast.

But if you get a 3 point scoop, you'll be happy as a clam....

IMHO

The big problem is power steering. If it doesn't have it, it is really tough to manhandle the tractor with a loader and bucket full!

Hi Nick,
I am also in Australia,(Central West NSW) I had a TEA 20 with a small bucket on the front and a 6ft blade on the back. It was terrific. The blade helped balance and steering. I wish I still had it. I now have a TEF20 and with a blade on the back and like you I wish to put a small bucket on the front. I got a quote of $5,000 to make one but this is a little expensive and I only paid $2,000 for the tractor. If you are successful in manufacturing a bucket I would be interested in having you make me one also. I wish someone in Australia would set up a web site like yesterdays tractors. You can email me at [email protected]
