Hi david.I have noticed that you have seen the mf 165 multi power on ebay. What are your thoughts. is it original? or a bits and pieces tractor.I would think its a 212 with a early 203 engine fitted,if this can this be done because the starter is on the other side.Looking forward to hearing your views.

Hello,
My word, you do get around! I have never actually see a later 165 with an AD4.203 engine fitted. However the MF 158F Fruit tractor circa 1984 is essentially a late 165 back end with an AD4.203 fitted. I believe that the gearbox casing will accept both engines.
The tractor on Ebay however is interesting as it may only have an 11" clutch. If the tractor has an IPTO there may have been problems fitting the split torque plate if the shaft was a 'fine-spline'. As to the tractor being a 'bits and pieces' one, I dont think so. It does appear to be fully complete. This difference is something that would probably not be noticed by 95% plus of people looking at it. If it is an original fitting then it will be unique.
