Sir: I did a search for my problem and found that you had addressed this issue. I have a 150, new to me, torn apart in the garage. I also noticed too much clearence in the axle rear pivot bushing. Took it apart and no bushing at all. Pivot pin .060" undersize and support housing is .130" egg shaped. The front bushing and pin are fine. I guess someone couldn't get under the tractor to grease the rear bushing. Thinking I need to find a shop with a gap bed lathe to swing 40" and cut pivot pin undersize and sleeve back to size. Also support will need to be bored and rebushed. Am I thinking correctly or did you go another route.

Thanks, Tom

That is exactly what I did. My 65 only reqired a 36 inch lathe throw. Cost total was around $100. Not too bad, considering the damage. I used Bamco in Morgantown, WV. I think they had to unbolt some machinery to make the necessary room to throw the axle. HTH

Aaron, thanks for fast reply. I'll need more help as I am new to M/F. New valve/head job completed. The block is at shop for sleeve replacement, crank was fine, found broken rings on # 3 & 4.

Sure wish I stll had access to the old shop I worked at. Rebuilt heavy industral equipment for 30 years, 13 acres under roof.

I had a heck of a time getting my head to seal. Heck I had trouble getting anything to seal. I used the rebuild kit from this site and had a fair amount of trouble with the gaskets. The thermostat, water pump, and pump housing all leaked. I unbolted everything and applied a very thin layer of import spec gasket sealant to both sides of the gasket and reinstalled. The head gasket required several layers of copper spray to the head/block surfaces and both sides of the gasket. My other mistake was using the wrong sized key in the balancer. Broke the rear lip and damaged the front seal. All is well now, I just need time to finish the project.

Is Buckeye Lake close to Columbus? Later Aaron

Aaron, Yep, downtown Columbus is 30 miles to the west. I sure hope I don't have the seal problems that you had. Mine is a gas z145 engine. Sounds like yours is a desil.

I hope the shop finishes the block soon. I sure would like to put something back togeather. I have parts all over the place. Hope I don't mix them with the 50 Pontiac stuff, also in the garage. The ole tractor might end up with the straight 8 engine.
