I'm getting the families retired MF 50, and I know it runs but needs work. I haven't seen it in years, so I have no idea how well it "runs." I do know that one of the first things it needs are tires, but I don't know what size they are; my question is this, what size is standard for an early MF 50? All else can be repaired/replaced gradually, but rubber is very necesarry! As my work on this tractor progresses I'll be posting questions and other information I come across, as well as uploading pictures now and then. Any info on the tires?

The most common tires for an M.F. 50 would be 6.00x16 front and either 13.6x28 or 14.9x24 rear.

If serial numbers are necessary, my dad (Charles Myatt) posted a comment several pages back on the same tractor with the numbers...apparently it"s a Massey Harris 50, but we"re still not sure. Whether it"s an MF50 or MH50 or not, it"s about a "57 year model.

Found a note from "buford" dated 10-22-2006 that said MF50 started in 1957 with ser. # 510764. Another site also says front tires are 6.00-16 and rear are 12.4-28 (I do remember rear size).

Use search on this site and the wealth of information will jump in your face.

I still need to haul same 400 miles somehow after all family business is settled.

No bill of sale! Any suggestions from folks out there?
