Can anyone advise to the amount of paint I need to purchase for this 150 (1967)? Red/Silver/Grey/Primer/Hardner.

I have cleaned the tractor as best that I can. It is split now. Front axle, engine, and the rest of it, 3 large pieces. Head and crank are at the machine shop.

I have also noticed from several pictures on the net, that the side panels (covering the battery) are two different colors (red & grey) which is correct?

I will have several more questions later, as I am new to M/F. Replacing my ole 9N.

Thanks for any help.

During last couple years of production, in 1973 to 1975 timeframe, the battery side panals were painted all red as were the front rims. This applied to all 100 Series.

Thanks Bill for your informative reply. Your tractor looks great. Mine is a project. What color is your dash panel? Mine is rust orange.

Also, did all 150's come with the flat top fenders? Seen some pictures with dish/pan type.

I am sure looking forward to using this tractor, as the ole 9N just isn't getting it.

Thanks again, Tom

Thanks!

The dash is flint grey metallic.

All 150's came from the factory with flattops.

You'll like the tractor when you're finished. Much more power, weight, lifting ability, steering, gearing, and operator comforts compared to the 9N

I painted my 150 last winter. I used oem AGCO/Massey Ferguson paint. The red took just over 1 quart. The flint grey metallic took almost 2 full quarts, and the silver mist (rims and grill) took less than 1/2 a quart. I used Valspar hardener. (from TSC) I lost track of how much primer I used, but a guess would be about 2 quarts.

I've owned this tractor since it was brand new. (1971) The battery side covers were 2-toned from the factory. I have several pieces of sales literature that show it as 2-toned also.

I'm of the opinion the 150 is the best utility tractor ever built. They're everything good about a 135 plus more. If you want help, advice, or pictures, please feel free to ask away. I'd be more'n happy to help.

Bill
