The Zane Thang is awesome, and the guy that invented it has forgotten more about Ferguson Lifts than most ever knew. Here are my experiences on my 2N. I got sick of praising the Zane Thang.so I looked up some of my past posts. Here are things I have said about the Zane Thang in the past. I was skeptical of the "Zane Thang", so I held off a purchase until someone else Neil Armstronged it. But I finally ordered it, and this weekend put it on my 2N. Let me tell you all that it makes my 2N so much easier to use. I use a brush hog, Finish mower and back blade. Having position control on the back blade and bush hog means I no longer need those annoying limiter chains. The way this thing works is just a joy. I had it hooked up in about 15 minutes. The quality of the unit is very nice, and it is hardly noticable until you use it. then you sort of "toggle" your implement up and down. I was using it effectively in 20 seconds. Then it was like second nature. I also believe it adds a good amount of safety. Knowing that the brush hog was raised securely over rocks, was a joy. The old way like this: Raise it, adjust rhrottle, hope hog didn't raise or lower, if it lowered; hit rocks and other stuff I raised it to go over, if it raised, the shaft woud hit the deck, and god only knows how long the universal joints will last in that position. I can't wait to plow snow now that I can adjust the back blade any where I want. I used to have to adjust the limiter chains real high to take a first pass in deep snow. I could never get the quadrant stop adjusted reliably enough to rely on it holding an implement. Now I'll just set it down where I want it. Zane....this thing is great. Thanks Later I wrote: I have also had great luck with the "Thang". Just last week I bought a three point hitch bucket. I only lift it about three or four inches off the ground when traveling, just in casse I overload it....this is only possible with the "Thang". This weekend I stacked rocks in the bucket, and I musta overdid it cuz up the front tires came up....Zane saved my hide again. As soon as the load hit the ground, the tires stopped. Not that I would flipped mind you, but it sure woulda been scary going higher. Als...How many times I lifted that Brush Hog too high by accident, before I had a "Zane Thang". I believe that next to a ORC, this is the biggest safety improvement you can make to a 2N/9N. Finally I wrote: If you are plowing with a 2N/9N with a back blade, you need a Zane Thang! I've gotten to the point in just a few times plowing, that I can feather that blade up and down, and not dig half the driveway's gravel up. Compare this to last year when I deposited half the driveway on my wife's flower beds.
