We have a Massey 135 with a continental 4 cyl gas. (Z-145). The operator ran the engine when it was "Making a noise" and proceded to drive it until the #3 rod broke, smacked the camshaft and came through the block. Searching for a good long block, crank, cam etc.. has been fruitless. But it seems there are many 3 cyl Perkins avaialable for the same model. So my question is anyone had the experience of swapping a z-145 gas for the perkins diesel? What problems are we looking to run into? Or would it be a straight forward swap, bellhousing match, axle mount match, maybe a beefier starter etc..?
Anyinfo from anyone having experience with this swap I would appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks.

The Perkins 3 cyl diesel engine is a direct fit
for the replacement of your z145 Continental engine. It will sit right into place. But if you
want to make things simple you can purchase an
engine, brand new complete and compliant with pol-
lution emission for 2007 from Perkins. Contact a
MF dealer near you
