So last year I bought a run down MF203 with loader and MF220 Backhoe. Paid $4200. Found a professional rebuilder in MI, USA and had the engine fully rebuilt (sleeve, rings, bearing, cam shaft, oil pump, water pump, generator) he put in a new RPM, water, fuel, AMP gauges. New Radiator, rear brakes, new rear tires. He worked on the rear and unstuck the differential lock, rebuilt 1 of the backhoe cylinders. I've also replaced most of the lines. This added another $4500 to my cost.

So in a nutshell, perfectly running for $8700. So your opinion please..... What would the thing be worth if I sold it?

(before you ask, I don't mind if I put in it more then it is worth, I'm very impressed with this tractor and feel it is well worth the money)....

..... Just curious

$8700 for a rebuilt utility tractor with a hoe and a loader? Sounds like a good deal to me. Beats the heck outa paying someone 8700 and not knowing what is in it. Gonna paint it?

Probably at some point, One of the things he did was paint the engine while it was out, and since there are no broken welded or dented body panels, It sure would be 'purdy again to repaint it!

Thanks for your responses!!

That statement alone means it is worth it. Enjoy.

I don't know much about tractor value, but i am sure having fun fixing up my 135. That is worth something. You have to enjoy working on the tractor. Repairs are not cheap. Parts are not cheap. One friend of mine says a boat dollar is 100 dollars, i say a tractor dollar is 150 dollars. Sure do enjoy my time working on my tractor.

I've found that there is no money to be made in restoring older or antique tractors. Sure there are those few "rare" or unique ones that have factory FWA or low production numbers that make them worth more than the average, but most of what I can afford is by no means special. By the time I will get done with my current project I'll have more in than it's worth. Part of the dollars spent is in the "fun" doing it factor. Think of it as "therapy" your just not paying a doctor.

If you compare your tractor to similiar modern version with the same features you probably have a bargain. If nothing else you know what you have.
