1130 injector pump timing

We rebuilt the perkins 354 in our old 1130 massey, however can not get it to fire. Does anyone know how to time the injector pump?

Is your IP mounted vertically on the front left of the engine like on my 2705?

If so in the service manual it says:

"With No. 1 piston at TDC on the compression stroke the slot in the injection pump drive shaft is aligned with the slot in the injection pump adapter plate."

The picture shown shows the slot in the adapter plate at about 2:30 if 12:00 is straight forward. The adapter plate is the plate with three studs that the pump bolts to.

Got it thanks. the pump is a CAV vertical pump. Once on TDC we rotated the pump mark to to "f" it fired right up.
