HI THERE,
I have a MF 275 4 cyl Perkins deisel 67 HP. It has a new tach guage and I need to know how many RPM"S should be marked on the guage for 540 PTO when using implements such as a brush hog or tiller. It has no mark now as it is an after-market guage. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I have a MF-690 with the same engine as the MF-275; in fact the 690 replaced the 275. My manual shows 1850 RPM engine at 540 RPM PTO. Don said below that it is less in the 275; best bet is to buy a MF Operator Manual for your tractor, available through MF dealer, as you will need the manual for fluids, user operations etc. Tom

Actually, I was off by 50 rpm's. I now have the tach from our 285 right in front of me, which was the same tach used on all of the 200 series as far as I'm aware and others of the same era (like the 1085) Should be 1700 for 540.
